Welcome to Erickson’s Lawn and Garden Service Center. We started the small engine repair and sales service center as a community service. When the other shops I had used for my Lawn and Garden needs closed I knew the community would as well need such a service center. I figured, if I need a place to get parts and have my repairs done, then so did many others in our community. Please come by and visit. We are here to assist you in your lawn and garden needs. Thank you for your time and patronage.
We had a good day at the shop today. Not only did we have a productive day making repairs, but we had a good time. I am glad I have a group of people that enjoy life have a positive attitude. It makes for a good day and makes you want to come back to work the next day. Thanks.
Great job! I love your store and your salespeople.
Had a good conversation with the Briggs and Stratton rep as well as several local business owner. I am a firm believer in support our local businesses. I made my rounds today pursuing ways to get parts and support from my fellow local businesses. Headway was made.
I love the friendly service. Your staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Your service is very fast.
Thank you Erickson Lawn and Garden for fixing my chain saws. Your service was quick and friendly. I’m definitely coming back.
Stephanie, thank you for your kind remarks.
April, you are more then welcome. I am glad we were able to get those chain saw running and back to you as fast as we did. It helps to have a caring knowledgeable staff. Thank you for your patronage.
Busy day at the shop today. We are open from 8am – 5pm on Saturday. Why? Because I wanted to serve the community. I figured if I needed a part or my mower worked on Saturday afternoon, then there has got to be others in the same predicament. We had a gentlemen come in 15 minute before closing and we did what we could to get his mower fixed so he could finish mowing his yard. I did not leave the shop until after 6pm.
Went to the shop today to get some paperwork done. Shop is usually closed on Monday but I opened the doors to enjoy the nice day. I had several customers come by needing parts and to pick up repaired items. Looks like I will need to start opening up on Monday as well. We are normally open Tuesday – Saturday 8am-5:30pm. Yes, even on Saturday we are open till 5:30pm.
Roger, you are what makes America great.
Thanks for helping bring back our economy by opening your small business and thanks for the inspiring video.
BTW. The logo is being Designed for Vetran’s Biz idea and as I told you I don’t like the hard spelling but I like the name… (I am not putting the name out yet)
Still working on site… again congratulations and enjoy …
Amid, thanks for the kind words as well as the encouragement. I had opportunity to share my desire and outlook for the business with a few of my customer today. It is all about community based service. We don’t just repair things and sell parts, we do a service for the community.
I am excited about the Vet’s Biz concept and look forward to being apart of it. I have been sharing the idea with a few of my Vet buddies and they too like the idea.
Thanks again.
Tomorrow is our Grand Opening. Not that I feel it will be any different of a day but it is exciting to see we have gotten this far and have done as well as we have. It is all due to the support of customer as well as some really good friends.Thanks.
We had another good day at the shop today. I want to thank everyone that took time out of their busy schedule to come by and show their support. I handed out some freebees and discounts but they were mere tokens of the appreciation I have for the support. Thank you.
The day started out slow but like the wind we had today, things picked up quick. Looks like we will have another full day tomorrow. We are open Saturday 8am-5pm for your convenience. Thanks.
Not at the shop today, at drill this weekend. Had the privilege of supporting the Wounded Warriors and the Make A Wish Foundation. The report I got from those at the shop was – busy. I am thankful I have dedicated help to run the shop while I am able to support such worthy organizations. Thanks to all.
Was at the shop today taking care of paperwork. We are not officially open on Mondays but I keep the door open for those needing assistance. And like the past several Mondays, there were a few that needed assistance. Enjoyed a conversation with a gentleman that praised the friendly staff that greeted him when he came in on Saturday. I will be sure to pass on the positive report tomorrow at the shop.
Going the extra mile. We do not mind going the extra mile to save the customer some money. Again, today Jess took the time to research a part in an effort to save a customer a few extra dollars. Not only did she take the time but she also accomplished the task and saved them some money.
Had a good talk with the Briggs and Stratton reps. We got the up dates, sale notices, and more training on the web based parts ordering system. Also, we had one more test out as a certified Briggs and Stratton service technician, good job guys.
We took half the day off to spend time with our families during this Easter holiday. Even with only half a day we were quite busy. A service has found its way to us – we are taking non-working lawn equipment off people’s hands. Several have been brought in to the shop.
We here at Erickson’s Lawn & Garden Service Center want to wish you all a very happy Easter.
Went into the shop today. Although the shop was officially closed, customers still were coming in dropping off equipment to be repaired and buying parts. I took some time to sit under the overhang and enjoy the rain.
Very busy day today. One customer after another. That needed rain we received yesterday has caused us a lot of yard work, and with yard work comes mower and trimmer issues. I had a mower and a trimmer pull rope break on me. Good thing I know of a reliable place to get more pull rope.
Beautiful day. We utilized one of our many services today by running out to a customers place to pick up a mower. We had the mower repaired and back out to their place by the end of the day. Glad to be of help.
Another example of our hard work and willingness to go the extra mile for our customers. Jessica spent some extra time to research a part and found it for half the cost of our competitor’s price. Thanks Jess for keeping our quality of service so high.
A good time was had by all at Derrick Days. We were able to meet quite a few people as well as hand out a lot of free popcorn. We had many stop by and look at our used mowers for sale.
Today we had a couple customers come all the way from Waxahachie to have their mower repaired. We expedited the work on the mowers and had it repaired in about an hour and them on their way. They found us via the internet.
The Husqavarna representative contacted us. They will be coming by next week for a visit. They reminded us that they offer more then just chain saws like mowers and trimmers.
We had another ATV in for repairs today and we had it running before the end of business day. Another service we provide.
I sure do appreciate those that help out at the shop and work so hard. When someone is sick, we sure do miss them. And, we wish the best for one of our technicians, David, who is on Annual Training with the military. Stay safe. We miss you.
Hey Roger, check out the link bar below the header bar. let me know what you think?
Also, visit http://www.kaboompages.com to see you featured on page 1. I hope you will like it…
We are now a Dolmar dealer. Go to http://www.dolmarpowerproducts.com/productcatalog/ and check out the products available or come by and check them out in person.
We received our first shipment of Dolmar trimmers, blowers, and chain saws. http://www.dolmarpowerproducts.com/productcatalog/ Talk about heavy duty equipment, the equipment has more steel and cast iron then I have seen in many of the other trimmers and chain saws.
Monday. As usual I went to the shop to get some paperwork done and ended up helping customers. Right now we are open Tuesday – Saturday 8am – 5pm (actually 5:30pm). Looks like I just might have to open on Monday as well.
Roger have you considered LATER hours (people are getting home at 6:00 and to deal with you they have to wait until the weekend… Just a thought.
Oh yes you should be open 6 days as that is retail days…
If anything close early one of the days but preferably for teaching the consumers to come to you you need to be open regular retail hours like everyone in the community…
It has become more then a thought. It looks like it has becoming a must.
Yes, being open 6 days a week is another thing I have talked to the staff about. Again, it looks like it has becoming a must.
I am not complaining. Looking forward to the challenge.
As an official Dolmar dealer we are listed in the dealer search. However, the address has our numbers switched. I am getting this corrected. Our address is 323 W. Collin. Dolmar makes chain saws, trimmer, blowers, and accessories.
Well, we have expanded our services with working on dune buggies. Just wanting to serve your community and help others.
We got our Briggs and Stratton engines in today as well as a boat load of Briggs and Stratton parts. Jess is hip deep in parts and accessory. I will take her a day or two to get them all logged in and put out on display. Come by and browse all the new things.
Wow! Spark plugs, Air filters, Oil filters, Ignition parts, Carburetor cleaner, Gas Stabilizer, Engine oil, Green tire Goo, and etc. I had not realized all the Briggs and Stratton parts we had until having to go through all the boxes.
Like usual we are open in the afternoon on Saturday. We had several customers comment that we are the only shop open in the afternoon. This decision was made due to my personal experience of needing a part or something fixed right in the middle of a chore on a Saturday and no one was open to help me. We are here to help.
Very busy today at the shop. Although, I did enjoy a few moments to just sit and chat with customers. It is good to get to know my fellow neighbors. Thanks for taking the time to talk and share your life with me.
More ATVs are coming into the shop for repair. Not only do we have certified Briggs and Stratton mechanic but also we have technicians that work on ATVs.
We now have a welder that will help with repairs. That once expensive replacement part may now be repaired. We are here to serve the best we can.
We will be open as usual all day Saturday. But, my children have already informed me that we will NOT be open on Monday, Memorial Day. I think they are going to hide the keys to the shop to keep me home. Not complaining, I will enjoy the time with the family.
We worked extra hard today to help our customers get ready for their Memorial day festivities. Many of the pieces of equipment that our customers brought in today and needed right away, we were able to get repaired and out today. A couple pieces we had repaired before they finished their grocery shopping. I want to give a special thanks to all the staff for working so hard today to make such things happen. Kudos!
It is good to have David back. He was off serving his country at military training. A bonus for our Memorial Day. Glad your back David.
Welcome Home David and Thank You for your sacrifice for me and all of my fellow Americans
Another used mower was sold and delivered today. Our used mowers and trimmers do not last long before they are sold. We also deliver, just another way to help out.
Wow, it has been hot these last couple days. Today was no exception. I have been encouraging those customers venturing out working and patronizing the shop to be-careful and go at it with caution. At the shop I have fans going full bast on the mechanics and the A/C on in the front.
Another hot day, those clouds are looking inviting. We are still able to get most repairs completed by the next day and some the same day. With three full time and one part time mechanic we are able to keep up with all the repairs. However, I am starting to take applications for another mechanic to keep up with the growing demand.
Well, I guess it is pretty much official. We are expanding. We are already out growing our currently location. We are in the process of opening our second location off of South HWY 287. I will keep everyone updated. We are keeping our current location, I will keep everyone updated on that as well.
Congratulations Roger and the entire ERICKSON’s team.
We are very proud of you
We started the week with splitting our time at both locations. We spent several hours working on the new showroom which will allow us to showcase a lot more products.
We have had several customers ask if we are moving. We are not moving, we just expanding. It will be a couple weeks before the new location will be ready for business. We are renovating the showroom and the repair shop. The new location at 1716 S. HWY 287 is on the way from down town to Home Depot, Gander Mountain, the Cinema, the lake, and etc.
In support of Father’s day we will be offering a special on all used equipment up to 25% off. This will be tomorrow only and it is only advertised on the business social nets works.
I am back. Spent two weeks with my military training. Being able to get more then a few hours sleep a day, getting up after 4 am, and not sweating profusely on a daily bases is very welcomed. I want to thank all the staff at the shop for keeping things running during my absence. I know the heat has been tremendous and the hours long but they kept up the good work. Thanks!
I must hand it to the staff. Even with the tremendous heat and the constant flow of customers we were still able to get a lot of the items repaired the same day. Kudos.
Yesterday and today I again received an appreciation for the work the staff performs on a daily bases. I spent time in the shop with the mechanics enduring the heat and then took over the responsibilities at the front desk. It is always good to work in the staffs place to keep a good perspective.
Well, it is official. We are open for business at the 2nd location at 1716 S. Hwy 287. Come by and see the new place. I will post some pictures in the next few days.
I’ve got a Corsicana pull type rotary mower that doesn’t seem to cut very good. I’m not sure of the model, but it has two blades that rotate. I’ve had the blades professionally sharpend, but my question is “how” are the blades supposed to be mounted? Do you have a drawing that would show the correct way?
Thanks, Rob
Rob, if I am thinking of the correct mower, we do not have a drawing. However, if I recall, there should be a bar that you will need to adjust. The bar or opposite cutting is what the spinning blades have to cut against. The bar has to be adjusted east time the blades are sharpened. There should be an adjustment on each side of the bar. I hope that helps.
We are tolerating this heat as best we can. And, we are doing our best to open our second location. It has been slow, but we are making progress.
We have started auto window tinting. We tinted two autos on Friday. We are continuing to book time for tinting. Give us a call to set up an appointment.
It was a good day. Even though it was another extremely hot day, we accomplished a lot. Special thanks to Robin Ratliff.
We have been very busy. Granted, not to many mowers or trimmers in to be repaired but more chain saws, generators, and pumps. Also, I have taken on the purchase of Graves Tire Company. The Graves for decades have served this community with great success. I hope to continue that commendable service. We will rename the operation Mr.E’s Automotive Service Center.
Do you happen to rent out aerators? We moved into the area this fall and noticed that our lawn needs to be aerated. If you don’t rent them out, do you know who does? Thanks
Becky,
Sorry, we do not have an aerator. And, I realize this is several months late in getting back with you. We are working on plusing up our staff to deal with all our social networking sites. Right now we are so busy with getting our new location and our new line of Husqvarna lawn care equipment up and running that it has been difficult to keep up.
However, if you are in need of any other assistance with your lawn care needs, please give us a call or come by – we would like to meet you. Thank you for taking the time to get in touch with us.
this was a prodigious share cheers for the help.
You are more then welcome. I am glad that we were able to assist you in your lawn care needs.
